About the Bride

Rachel grew up in Omaha and rural Iowa. She moved back to Omaha for nursing school and now works as a pediatric nurse for Children's Hospital and Medical Center. While she doesn't do much of the cooking in the house, she does have a sweet tooth, and likes to concentrate on the most important course...dessert! 

About the Groom

Jim grew up in Omaha. He recently graduated from nursing school and is currently working in the Psychiatric Department at the VA Hospital. He also has two wonderful children. Jim cooks most of the meals for the family (thankfully, or we would eat lots of frozen pizza.) 

How We Met

Rachel and Jim were both new on the Cardiac floor at the Nebraska Medical Center. Jim was working as a CNA while going to nursing school, and Rachel had just graduated from nursing school. They were standing on opposite ends of the hallway, and couldn't help but stare at each other. Eyes were locked for what seemed like minutes. One night, Rachel had asked Jim to help her with a patient. They began talking, and worked together on several shifts. One day, Jim asked Rachel some questions about charting, then the conversation led to jokes and laughing, and they've been inseparable since.
